I hear the AC Delco batteries from Holden are pretty good.

As undersuspicion says, Optima Yellow Top are great but unfortunately they will cost you more than twice your maximum budget.

century should be around 150, give or take 10 bucks depeding where you go. Ive always used century ones, havent had anything wrong with one before. Also if you can take your old battery in. ask them to trade it, they should knock 10 bucks off the price

see if you've got a battery world store nearby as you get complimentary fitting and alternator test, and they will recycle your old battery.
when i worked at autobarn they had no battery recycle program so im not sure if they do now.

also, the advantage of going to a specialist battery shop is they know what they're talking about and also have high turn over, meaning the stock doesn't sit on the shelf for more than a week or so.

    cheers,
    liam.

Battery World are the factory outlet for Century Yuasa. Ask the guys in the shop if they have any seconds. You could be lucky and get a $200 battery for $60 as i did. No warranty on these batteries though but if you are financially challenged it could help. Throw away after 2 years and repeat.

at exide we get a few scratched/cosmetic seconds which they sell to car yards, they all pass the same final test but , but just are scratched /burnt from melting off the post. dont worry about the lost warranty , as you got a bargin there..

You should be able to do that yourself, its a 10 min job. and requires very little tools.
