My old man has just handed down his 99 WH Caprice to me. It's completely stock and I'm wondering if I should have it lowered with the stock wheels or start saving pennies for new wheels. Making this a bit harder is that he put new Bridgestone tyres on it the day he handed it to me. Currently has 225/55/15s. Would this look any good? Don't know why Holden put 15inch rims on it.
Nice gift. My WH Caprice has stock 16 inch wheels. Must have changed between series 1 and 2. Does yours have self levelling suspension?
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
Yeah it does. Or at least I think that's what the noise must be when it idles and I'm sure I felt it drop when I was leaning on it. I've also heard people say that lowering will wear the tyres.
yep if you go overboard and lower it too much you get massive wear on the inside edge of the back tyres its a VT thing it was corrected for vx2 onwards I believe. you can get a kit fitted that can correct the bad camber a bit but it will never be perfect and can go back to how it was if you hit a bump too hard etc.
