    Default 5l timing chain

    hi all
im gonna change my timming chain on my 5l vtss, the car has a flat spot that i cant seem to make go away. so im suspecting its stretched.

i want to put a double row chain on will it fit without changing anything else? or will i have to get a new cover or any other parts?

to change these do you just- drain coolant- remove water pump- remove timing cover- replace chain and reasemble?
it would be great if someone else has done this and could give me any tips/advise

    cheers

cam lobes can wear out on older model V8's as the lifters haven't got rollers, but that being said if your car is a genuine VT 5L you will have roller lifters so it would take a lot to wear out the cam lobes with that type of lifter

How many km's on the car? Maybe your mechanic wants you to buy an aftermarket camshaft - then a double row would be a good idea

    hi
sweet so the double row will fit...cool
its a genuine vtss so yea it should have the roller tappets im guessing, its done 220thow kms.
yea the mechanic reckons i should put a hot cam in it, i just really want the flat spot gone.
from idle if you gun it, itl take of as if its got traction control on (it doesnt have this) then when its moving a bit itl spin the tyres? shurly i should be able to hose them of the mark without useing the brakes???
    cheers
