hey guys am planning to do tranny oil change but am wondering which product to be used inorder to hold the cork gasket in place while installing the pan back... thanks
I purchased my filter kit from Repco. Once the pan and the trans sump were clean, it was easy to place the gasket on the pan, make sure the holes lined up, and just push it into place, insert bolts, tighten to spec and job done. No leaks.
If it is tricky you could try a few small blobs of ultra blue gasket silicone or similar around the edges I guess.
thanks guys for replying. the sad news is coz this is my second attempt in trying to change the tranny oil without minor leaks from the pan. at first i noticed that the gasket before was sealed with some sort of glue maybe from the first owner and i did cleaned the pan well, but didn't put any glue and it leaked from the front after to weeks. am really confused.....
It's simple as, just make sure the pan and tranny are clean where the gasket makes contact, lay your gasket on the pan the correct way and lift into place, placing the four corner bolts in finger tight with your other hand.
There is a detailed How-to in the How-to section.....
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'
