Default Caliper bolted to steering knuckle

    Hi all

When i was changing my struts today i noticed that one of yer caliper bolts was loose due to a stripped thread

Is the correct terminology for the part the caliper is bolted to the stub axle or knuckle? No one knows what im on about.

sounds clear enough to me. Is it the bolt that is stuffed or the stub? It's kind of important you fix that one.

Yeah there is a wrecker with one so I'll get it changed over asap. I think its the knuckle part as i tried a different bolt and you can get it a little tight but not enough for the proper torque.

Might try a local thread repairer as it could be less hassle.

Not sure I'd be comfortable with repaired threads on brake components, but I'm sure there's others here more qualified on that than me that will comment.

I'll grab one off the wreckers I think. Will be cheaper than getting the thread retapped.
