Hey me and my dad replaced the front struts on my VT the other day. now when i turn the car i can hear the springs moving, i looked around on the net and saw someone suggest that it is the bearings. Dad did say to me that they probably needed replacing but i didn't realise it would cause such a problem. Is this what is causing it? or is it the springs are in thw wrong spot? the part dad thought needed replacing was a yellow plastic "doughnut" shaped disc that 'clicked' together if that makes sense. is that the bearing that needs replacing? if it is does anyone know the part number/name so i can sort one out?
any ideas and suggestions are welcomed thankyou
the plastic 'donut' is the bearing and should not come apart! obviously the bearing is stuffed you should of replaced it when they were out, i would replace the strut top mounts aswell as the old ones may look ok but may have separated from the rubber.
Yep, bearings are shot. Unless you have the washers in upside down, that would make a grating sound as well.
If you need them, I have a set of brand new SuperPro strut tops with bearings that you can have for $180 posted.
hey naaf, trying to get ahold of you about the exhaust system for my clubby. cant send private messages says your full!
