I have just inherited my parents car as they are now too old to drive.
It is a VT Series 2 Berlina, 2000 model. They've had it from new, just under 70k on the clock - nice old car. I know nothing about commodores, never owned one before.
I bought a towbar for it from eBay, but not sure if it will fit. I didn't do any checks, it was close-by and I was about to go away for a week so didn't check it out properly. It has an HSV sticker on it, part # 14L-010501. 1600kg rating. It appears to bolt up through the boot floor.
Can anyone tell me if this is OK to use on my car? I only actually need a light towbar, just tow a small box trailer and sailing catamaran which are both light.
Any help appreciated.
If its from another VT sedan it should be all good mate. if its the high load rated bar, that's just a plus.

My understanding (although I stand to be corrected) is that the HSV towbars were designed to avoid having to cut holes in the lower rear spoiler on HSV vehicles. As such, it should be fine for your VT, although it may sit a lot lower than your rear bumper bar panel.
Thanks for the replies. I googled the part # and it looks as though it may be from a HSV ute, so I'm not sure whether it will be OK. Having it down lower won't be good as some boat ramps will be a problem. May have to get rid of it and find one for a sedan.
The Towbar for a sedan/wagon are the same from vt to vz.
Ute towbars are different to sedan's
