hey guys, i'm a new member and thanks for letting me join ya forum. This seems like the website to go to for all commodore problems. i have just recently bought a 2000vt and i'm loving my purchase. i have a slight issue when refilling with coolant... When i go to refill it, it sems like its going in and coming straight out the bottom. not sure where its coming from but it seems like its coming out directy under the coolant refill tube (front Right if your looking at it from the bonnet) I'm not sure how high my coolant is supposed to be? it's comes up about a third way up the yelow stick thing. I dont drive my car hard and the temp on the engine always sits about third of the way. and doesnt go any higher. Is it just overflow? i dont think so cause i putting it in and its pretty much coming straight out, but then i'm not sure if its a leak cause the engine doesnt really overheat. any help would be greatful. dose it have a yellow cap if it dose it is the overflow tank. check and fill the coolant when the car is cold (first thing in the morning ) and fill the radiator remove the radiator cap.
Yeah it does have a yellow cap, will do that first thing in the morning, i think i am just stressing too much, thanks burnout
sounds like its just an overflow mate, if your car was overheating when driving you would have a leak somewhere so you are safe there.
