Hey guys just wondering if somebody can clear this up for me.
I really like the look and feel of the VX SS front seats (they are the same in VT, VX, VY and VZ..?) and would really like some for my car. So I have been ringing around wreckers and getting quotes etc and its pretty cheap (around the 300 mark)
Problem being all the wreckers I rang are not local and courier costs are ridiculous (have been looking on Ebay as well)
But I had a thought. Would it be possible to just swap the padding from the SS seats over to my standard seat frames..? Obviously the cloths will not fit but planning on a leather upgrade anyway. I figure If I could get the foams new and just put them on my standard seats I would save a fair bit of dough and have new comfy seatsor if they are too expensive find some foams from a wrecker and save a bit on postage.
Anyway just wanting to know if this is actually possible..?
My ride is a VX II Lumina.
Also I did search but found a lot of conflicting info.
Thanks, RvtRvx
Possible but if you're getting leather trim I'd be looking at new foam inners ,which I'm fairly sure you can get on ebay.Either way you should talk to your upholsterer before you do anything cos he may be able to offer you the least expensive alternative

very easy and the they fit on the standard frames however I would be reluctant to get them second hand as taking the seats apart and removing the foam more often than not damages the sides (there is a steel rod that runs through. Talk to your upholsterer and see if they can build the sides up fpr you with high density foam or if you are handy with hand eye co ordination then buy the foam yourself and shape it using electric carving knife.
