    Default VU rear shocks

Hi, just wondering in regards to a VU ute, do you have to remove 5 nuts that hold the top of the shock in place? Also would like to put lower springs in and have noticed the ute has auto ride leveling or similar. Does this need to be disabled if the car is lowered? Its a VU SS ute. Any help appeciated. Cheers

correct on the 5 nuts, undo the 5 15mm nuts pull the plate out and remove the 16 or 17mm shock nut.
as for the auto leveling, i take it your talking about the brake line adjuster, its the thing on the right hand side behind the axel that joins up to the rh sway bar link mount, it adds more pressure to the rear brakes when there is a load in there, no need to adjust it.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you will need to remove the rod that goes from the level ride sensor to the control arm or you might damage the sensor if the car is too low. The rod clips onto a knuckle and can be levered off with a screwdriver.
Remove the fuse or relay as well.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
