Hi
The drivers seat base on the right side(facing the door) is colapsing and very uncomfortable.
Does anyone know or have done a switch of the drivers seat base with the passengers seat base?
Is it possible or not due to the electric drivers seat adjusting mechanism?
Cheers.
they are opposite due to the electrics and being that the drivers seat faces the right hand side and vis versa.
so no it wont fit.
I disagree.
I have swapped the passanger and the drivers side seat bottom foams due to my drivers side one collapsing.
Have to take the whole seat frame out, and dismantle the bottom piece, but not hard at all, just time consuming.
The foams for the left and right are identical, both sides have the holes for all the knobs and switches, the holes are just covered by the various plastic pieces which ARE different to each side.
Just make sure you disconnect the battery before unbolting the seat, otherwise you will have to get holden to reset the airbag lights.

ive also swapped foams and covers on seats ,easy but very time consuming ,best way to make a mint drivers seat, when you cant find a good one.
Thanks.
Just to clarify, did you peel off the upholstery or just detach the base off one seat and swap it ?
I will get around to getting an upholsterer to fix the foam (or do it myself), but currently the old drivers side one is just sitting on top of the passenger frame. This is good as my passengers (mainly my parents) can no longer reach my stereo (because they have to sit in back) to turn it down, suckers, LOL. But your answer was just swap it, since the old passenger one is perfectly fine.
Oh and I just had a close look, disregard my earlier post about completely dismantling the seat. All you need to do is;
1. Disconnect the battery, may not even be needed, but do it anyway. Holden charge way to much to clear the codes.
2. Remove the side panels from both seats. You know the one that has all the switches on the drivers seat? Remove those on both seats. Lay to side.
3. Undo the 4 bolts holding the frame to the floor.
4. Lean seat back so its backrest is horizontal, or just remove from vehicle. Probably easier to remove from car, but up to you.
5. See the 4 plastic pieces that are attached to the cloth on the bottom foam? Pull the pieces away from the frame (so in towards the centre of the seat) and just pull away. Those 4 plastic clips are all thats holding the foam to the frame.
Should honestly take you less than 30 minutes to swap them. Which annoys me now because I spent ages disassembling the seat trying to work out how to get them off. Ahhh eagle-eye hindsight is great is it not?
If you don't understand anything I wrote, just tell me and I'll take photos.
