Power steering pump or rack

Hi everyone

I got a reco steering rack put in the other day and the system has been bled a though the steering wheel feels a bit tight in some parts.
The pump is making a slight whining noise, and from what I've read, the system can take a few days to fully bleed properly.
I'll give it a few days to see if it improves.

Could a new steering rack kill a older pump?

Might add also that the previous rack was replaced as there was a bit of play in it (and which I thought was causing a knocking sound).

nah changing the rack wont effect your pump, with no acceleration is it hard to turn your steering wheel? and at about 1500rpm it should go easy again.

in that case it will be your pump gone.

but also check your power steering fluid, see if its low, that could also be a problem.
