    Default stereo

    i wanna change the stereo in my car,,,its a vx acclaim,it has the volume buttons on the steering wheel,,,,
    just wondering if i replace the original stereo will i still be able to use those buttons on wheel,,will they be wired to the new head unit

    This has been asked countless amount of times. The search bar is there a reason. OT not without a separate control module.

    Yeah the only way I know of is with specially built h/u, or add ons you can buy. Last I heard most were a tad pricey.

    If you prefer the stock look and feel, there's a few blokes on here that can help you whack an amp onto the stock system.

    most aftermarket head units over $200 will be able to be fitted with a CAT transponder (the unit that sends the signal from the wheel to the h/u), but be prepared to fork out an extra $200 for the CAT transponder itself.

    It all comes down to if you can justify the extra $200 just to use your steering wheel controls. If it's gonna annoy you just having them there and not being able to use them, you could always change the wheen to a S1 Exec wheel with no buttons.
