Hey guys i just bought a vt commodore, i was never a holden fan (aside from the HSV) but i am starting to like them
Now i have a question in relation to draining radiator, which i half did today. In the past i had a 300zx tt and to drain and refill that i used to lift the front of the car up so that the air would find the highest point and escape. Would doing the same thing help with the VT? Some feedback would be appreciated.
You shouldnt have to lift it. Make sure you have the engine running when filling, and open the heaters as well.
Your Nissan would be similar to my Toyota Soarer, although, you fill that thru a bolt on the top of the thermostat housing.
There is a bleeder screw on the thermostat housing (top radiator hose connects to it). Run engine until operating temperature and slowly undo the screw until all air has escaped, repeat a few times.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
It is a good idea to jack the front of the car up, helps get air out through the bleed screw. I always do this.
