Hey guys I sent my car to a local wrecker about 2 weeks ago and it came back and the guy said it needs new oxygen sensors, I replaced the fuel pump, the fuel filter and both oxy sensors, it's got me stumped as to why it's chewing fuel, it's only a standard vx ss with a dual 2.5 xforce cat back exhaust system,
Does anyone have any suggestions ??

Could really be anything from flat tyres to faulty thermostat.
Check all the fuel related causes. Plugs, leads, injectors. Temperature related, cooling system, thermostat.
Blocked cat?
Reset Ecu and check codes?
Inflate tyres to recommended levels and stop driving like a hoon?
Run a tank of standard fuel and see what happens. If the car is not tuned to premium, it won't run as economically. But having said that, 200kms is pretty bad, were you giving it a lot of stick?
Na it's driving it like grand pa would but I'll try normal fuel but not e10

The LS1 has a bad habit of chewing up RH factory cats. If one or both cats have broken up and partially blocked the exhaust, it would cause really bad economy.
How can you check??

Remove the exhaust from the cat Back and have a peak throgh with a torch if its blocked youd see loose honey comb look
Im a pretty normal driver and with a full tank of premium i get about 320km around newcastle.
If i razz it i get about 260 and if im a granny i get about 400km max
my car is overdue for a full service and filter change too because my gearbox is ###d..

Any engine lights appearing or rough idle? Fuel tank leak?
Engine lights on but that's cause of oil pressure switch, everything else is ok

You've had it scanned and its only the oil pressure causing the fault code?
Has it always chewed through the fuel or only when you replaced the oxygen sensors, fuel pump etc.
When you get low on fuel, is it the warning light going on? The other thing that might cause it is if your fuel sender is reading the tank wrong?
How many litres can you put in when its empty?
If your cat's blocked it's because the honeycomb holding the catalyst has collapsed. Only option is to replace.
Reset the ECU is a first step. Necessary because it uses recent historical records to weight it's current tuning. Remove the records and it will default to factory tune.
Filled up tonight from this point n it took 40.04L

Id say its slightly wrong and the fuel level in the tank is reading slightly wrong. Check what amount the sender is reading in the fuel tank by accessing the service menu through the trip computer (hold set and mode i think) before turning to on position and then let go.
Then fill and see how much it reads. When its half way see again how much.

Wrecker n also qualified mechanic, I thought it would of been safe

having a crook oil sender can cause some of your problem, i've just been though the same thing. a few weeks ago i noticed my exhust smelled rich and used lots more fuel. dtc came up a week later as over voltage oil pressure sender. replaced the sensor and fixed the problem. i dont know why it caused the tune to go rich. maybe some sort of limp home mode or engine protection. i'd still check everthing posted above as well
