Engine mounts vx ss rooted?

Hey guys,

Quick one, yesterday I noticed a knocking on start up from the gearbox area, the car is cammed so has a lummpy idle, the some is not from an internal component of the engine as I made sure for that, just wondering what rooted engine mount characteristics are?

Try this out mate. Hand Brake up, car in drive and give it a little acceleration and if the engine slams from side to side then your mounts are "rooted".

If not it might be your gearbox mounts

if you have the time, just jack it up and have a look, and busted engine mounts are like a constant rattle at idle and continues to get worse.
