Could be the clock spring behind the steering wheel, common fault on the VT-VX.

some of the interior like the glove box and the side of the seat base but nothing else has come out? the seatbelts seem ok. how can I tell if they arent working properly.

If you take them out the metal string thing will be loose not tight... i might be wrong its just how it seemed in my mates car... When you say the side seat base what do you mean? Becuase my guess is its that.. BUT Having said that it might just be a computer fault its worth taking it to an electric guy and see what they say... Where are you from man?

To find the exact cause, take it to an auto electrician or some one with the correct scan tool and have them read the SRS codes to find out what caused the light to come on and reset the light, it might not come back on, depending on what the problem was. There is no other way to reset the light.

Mine came on the other week. Went through the carwash and now the thing bleeps at me and lights up every time I turn the car on. Holden quoted $125 to diagnose and what ever it will be to fix it. I stuck a sticker over it. The bleeping is annoying though. Might just get the codes cleared. Think I got water in mine.
