I replaced spark plugs, leads, coils, cranksensor, camshaft sensor and cleaned throttle body and maf
took it to ultratune and they siad cranksensor so got them to replace it again, but it still randomy stalls and i get error code 49 which is intermitant crank/cam sensor
any suggestions
Id check all the main wiring harness connectors in the engine bay, unplug them and plug them in again a few times to make sure theres good contact between the pins in the wiring connectors. Check them all for corrosion etc too. Also check the wiring connetcor on the DFI (Direct Fire Ignition) module, this is the metal thing the 3 ignition coils sit on and also bolt to. The DFI wiring connector pins can become corroded and cause problems similar to yours , so its worth checking the pins in the connector for corrosion etc. The connetcor has a small screw or bolt that secures the connector to the DFI module, so it needs to be removed before the connector can be unplugged from the module. If theres no corrosion found in the connetcor, then renew the DFI module as thats probably the problem. I would have said the CAS is the problem, but youve already had it replaced ,and its made no difference to the problem,so Id definitely look at the DFI module next..
I ask ultra tune about the Ignition module and they said it tested ok
I took car back to ultratune and the mechnic drove it home but did not play up
he said bring it back if it plays up
I had a starter relay problem 6 months ago , i just swaped the lights and starter relay over and it came good as they were the same
could this cause stalling
I had a similar problem in my VT, check the fuel pump, it may be on the way out. Does it only stall when idling or decelerating? Mine did this because it was losing fuel pressure. Stick your head under the fuel tank and have a listen while the car is running. If the fuel pump sounds really noisy or like it is stuggling this maybe the issue. I dont think it throw up and error code for fuel issues but I could be wrong
You would think that it would stall all the time if it were something like the fuel pump on its way out, unless the car is stalling only when the fuel tank is low, so that might be worth looking into if you havent actually taken any notice if the fuel tank is low when the problems happens and the car stalls. Id also try another DFI module. Because the problem is occuring randomly and not constantly happening, the tests ulratune did on the DFI module wouldnt detect the problem unless it actually occured whilst they were in the middle of actually doing the tests, which is very unlikely to happen with these kinds of probnlems, so its worth trying another "known" working DFI module, seeing youve tried just about everything else.
it stalls on lpg as well petrol and fuel pump sounds good, and it idles perfectly
It hasnt stalled since but if it does i will go to wreakers and get dfi module
