hey, just a quick question, i damaged the temp sensor on passenger side head when i was installing extractors its a ls1. and i have ordered a new one off ebay but it hasnt arrived in time and i may have to use the car tomorrow for an hour drive or so. i took it for a quick spin the other night after i had installed the extractors and an engine warning light came up and thermo fans were on constantly but temp still got up to half on gauge. any advice would be great thanks guys.

i assume it would be mate, because your car will think it always hot, therefore having your fans on.
well he said fans kicked in so just watch gauge should be right
If Barbie's so popular, why do you have to buy all her friends?
Yes, yes it is.
lol, look if you need to pop round to the shops, or 20 mins to work, you should be fine. As long as you avoid stop/start traffic, and keep air flowing through her, it should be ok. Just don't delay installing the new one.
Regards,
Mike.

The sensor looks at coolant temp and uses that for a range of things. One of these is turning the cooling fans on and off. Get it fixed ASAP, and until then the fans will default to on.

oh and if anyone needs a coolant temp sensor now i have a spare!
