    Default Hacking WIN CE

    Hi all,
I recently bought one of those cheap Chinese all-in-one stereos. The operating system is supposed to be WIN CE.

The clock is really funny. It can't be set directly, but has to be set by selecting GMT +/- something. But.....

The clock changes time in a weird way. I can only explain by example:

Below are the settings and clock time:

    GMT - 19:00
    GMT -1 - 17:00
    GMT - 2 - 23:00
    .
    .
    .
    GMT - 10 - 14:00

I think I need to go into the operating system and adjust the clock that way.

Any idea how to do this?

    Cheers,

I think you can get around it by not syncronising the clock. Is there a clock sync option in the setup?

That would help if the clock actually showed the correct time for the time zone selected! It seems to show the correct time for GMT, but when I change the zone (GMT + 10 the time changes by + or - several hours!

So, if I set it to GMT + 11 (or GMT + 10) there is no gaurentee that the clock will show the correct time - in fact it will almost be a couple of hours out.
But if I adjust the time zone to cater for this (eg. GMT + 9 if it is two hours out) it will be maybe 3 hours out. So I go the other way and set it to GMT + 12, and then it will be 4 hours the other way!

    It is driving me nuts!!

No, there is no way of setting Auto-Update off!

The choice was "cheap Chinese Crap" or the standard Eurovox. My bank balance does not extend to a $1,500 setup!

As for the clock, I finally managed to get it right by playing around witht he settings.

    Cheers.
