Hey guys. I've got a 98 VT and whenever it rains I find the carpet in the rear drivers side soaking wet. I don't think it happens when I'm driving only when the car is stationary and it's raining. I can't seem to find where it's coming from and it's really getting frustrating. If anyone knows what the problem is or how to fix it that would be great.
Thanks
Matt
It's not the door more than likely. A lot of the time it's the seal for the windscreen, and water leaks down.
Try putting water over the windscreen and see if it leaks then, if not try different places near the windscreen - either way that's my guess.

Mine does this too!! Drivers door in really heavy rain just drips a tiny bit into the cabin.

You could check the door seals, all the rubbers, they might be warped. Mine are gone, in heavy rain I get water cooled.

My passenger door does it. Every time I go to the carwash effn pours in and onto the floor.
Mine had a similar problem and was coming through the inner door plastic.
Pull your door trim off and check if the plastic water protector is still stuck on properly, especially around the bottom half of the door. Mine was not stuck properly in one place and water would run in.
Was easier to find the leak when the door trim was off.
I managed to stop this after replacing all seals including the one that runs from the front to the rear above both doors. Holden dealership freakin love me.

The problem is how you open the door. When you open it from the outside what do you do? You grab the top of the door right? This bends the top of the door out and stops the seal from contacting the body. You will probably find that the top corner of the door sits out slightly. Grab the door and push the corner in a bit so the seal contacts again.
Rear door leaks are not uncommon on these cars right up to VY. When I got my VY it got flooded in the left rear. The water was dripping out of the door trim where it had a few screws missing from the bottom. I took the door trim off and the plastic seal behind it had been removed to fix something in the door and it had been torn and was not stuck on properly. I got a new one from Holden they are not expensive or you can use the torn one for a template. I ended up putting th enew seal on with a spray adhesive and it has been good since then. In heavy rain more water can go down the door than what can get out of the bottom as the rear 1/4 windows are not sealed at all and water runs through and has to get out the bottom through the gap between the seal that runs from front to back wheel and the one on the dog leg of the rear door.
I think the door seal looks like the problem. It's the only place I get s leak and it looks like it's coming over the kickpanel. Are seals expensive to buy from GM?
My Calais used to have the smallest of leaks in the driver door window. You could see after washing the car, the fogging up on the inside and a couple of drops of water on the inside of the door. Also, another pointer was a slight wind drag sound when travelling at high speeds.
