I have a vx ss. I currently have the growler cai.
Im just wondering if anyone has tried the vcm polished stainless steel otr or the mace cai.
If so how much power gains did you get. Is it worth the change over from the growler?

I had an SS Inductions "Big Mouth" CAI on my VX Clubsport. Car gained .5 sec on the quarter mile when I changed to a DuSpeed OTR.
I was going to get a VCM alloy OTR but found a DuSpeed for a good price so grabbed that.
Do a search and you will find why nobody has bothered to answer you. Been asked over and over again.

You may find the vcm will give you slightly better performance at lower speeds.
I had a growler style fitted on my VT ss Ls1 and was told the benefit of this style was at speeds above approximately 80km/h
The vcm may be better at lower speeds at getting the air in because of the less restricted path way to the throttle body.
As for actual Kw gains that will depend on other breathing options you have installed eg larger throttle body and exhaust etc , also you will more then likely see greater benefit having a tune done if / when you get throttle body and exhaust done.
the gains of an CAI/OTRCAI by itself are minimal, the tune is where you get the biggest gains from.

It should reach, mine did. I was running a cheap ebay OTR with the maf still in place. MAFLESS FTMFW

Even maffless can be tuned to pass emissions. At worst it would require a mod plate to keep a picky transport dept happy.
Cheap, fast, reliable.....you only get to choose two.
Thanks alot guys. I currently have pacemaker extractors 1 5/8" 4-1 which im getting put on asap along with higj flow cats and a custom 2.5" catback.
My mech reckons I will gain 10-15 rwkw. How much will I gain with just them after a tune.
Im also looking into an 80mm tb too and otr depending on if I will gain substantial power compared to my growler.
I know you guys know more then me so I ask how much power should I be looking at?

with the exhaust about 215rwkw, add an OTR maybe about 225rwkw. A bigger TB will do #### all, but if its bragging rights you want then do it i have an 85mm on mine. An OTR will get you a couple more kws over the growler. but since you already have the growler,is it worth $600 for an OTR to maybe get you an extra 5-6kws????

Has anyone been through HPF? I want to know how they get so much power from there exhaust package...
hey guys just wanted to ask if the 1 5/8" extractors would be too small for good flow or should i go for the 1.5"???
They will give better midrange than the next ones up.Id go for the 1 5/8 if only going basic power upgrades.
