Diff question again....

Ok so I finally got my diff out, taking to a specialist tomorrow, he is going to fit a new pinion and crown... Basically asking him to replace the whole internal workings of it, how much should it cost?

Just wanted to make sure I'm not getting ripped... Thanks guys...

Its a 3.07 standard lsd by the way.

I found it's usually much cheaper to just buy another used diff, My stock LSD diff died on me, so I replaced it with a 3.45:1 ratio LSD Diff from a VU Manual SS and it is perfectly fine, had 96k kms on it, and the higher ratio gives it that bit more pull it's definitely worth it, I paid $255 for the diff and $70 to ship it down from QLD to VIC dropped at my door, and you can get them cheaper than that if you find them, even better if you don't need to get it shipped.

If it's going to be cheaper to just fix yours definitely go down that path as it will be stronger if you fix it, but if not, I'd be looking at a replacement diff.

I just had a 3.73 HSV diff rebuilt with new seals and bearings not long ago.
I believe $550 is about what most places charge. I paid $500.

in Sydney i was quoted $1000 to fix mine (not fitted),
i brought a used vz gts diff for $500 i was lucky it was from a mate and i new it only had 30k on it.
