Default Mace spacers don't fit after new engine mounts.

So i finished installing my new engine mounts and now my bonnet won't close with my 12mm plenum spacer and 25mm manifold insulator. I don't want to remove them and would hate too after what they cost but unless I buy a new bonnet I can't see any other way. Any ideas peeps?

Yeah theirs people who have both spacers and a strut tower brace and still have room so yeah I dunno lol. Yeah spacing the cross member sounds like a plan.

Got ant pics of the gap between the sump and cross member, a eye level shot of the manifold and strut towers and any other measurements?

Get genuine mounts, problem solved. Or just sell the snake oil and spend the coin on something useful

I compared them with genuine ones, thier exactly the same, same size same material same hydraulic fluid. Im talking about 20mm here so I was going to have issues with whatever mounts I got. The gap now after new mounts between sump and crossmember is the sumps about 10mm above the crossmember instead of 10 below which is where my 20mm has come from. I was thinking about spacing the crossmember butt I've altered my bonnet instead and all is well again. Just a pain in the ass.

Yeah the engine cover came off when I first bought the car. Yeah removed a section of lining and had to take out a section of the spider webbing skin too.

Sure is the mounts. Take advice from someone who has the same issue. Dont cut your liner it doesnt help. It will just vibrate the bonnet and annoy you even more. I have after market ones also and was told this might happen from mace (Steve) himself. But id already had the mounts fitted before getting the spacers. Mine is removed at this time.

Yeah ok well it's obviously happened to a few people so it must be the mounts, just seems weird...why would they make bigger mounts? Nah cutting the lining worked a treat. All fixed.

I think some or most after market mounts are to stiff. i think factory ones are softer giving more drop - that's why they are common to screw up. That's all i can think of .

Im glad yours worked and everything is fine now. When i removed mine it felt like the motor died or lost a cylinder .
