Whats cheaper

Would it be cheaper to just get a ls2 from a wreckers?
Real cars don't power the front wheels, they lift them
One thing to consider if you were to do an LS2 conversion is that the LS1 has a 24 tooth reluctor wheel and from memory the early LS2's had a 24 tooth wheel but then changed to a 58 tooth reluctor wheel, the computer on the LS1 will not read the later models signals so you then have 2 alternatives, remove the crankshaft from the LS2 and replace the wheel with the LS1 wheel or buy a signal converter box that will convert the signals so the computer can read the position of the crank for fuel, ignition etc, from what I have read the converter boxes can be a bit temperamental and troublesome.
Stroke to 383ci or LS3
LS3 slightly more $$ but more to work with down the track e.g 427ci
As i an other people have said in some of your previous posts "better the devil you know" i would stroke the ls1 to 383ci. but i dont know what is cheaper either way i reckon #### all change from $8,000.
Take it easy...But do take it...
Do not argue with an IDIOT.
He will just drag you down to his level an beat you with experience.
Some people take me the wrong way, Like smacking up Marijunna.
Personally I'd go for the stroke. There's something about the number 383 that makes me happy![]()

Why stop at 383ci lol?
Because if you try and take your ls1 any larger, you may have to seal up the conrod inspection hole.
ls3 would be my preference over a 383
