No it's the one that came out on the vt - vx think it's an l90 but not sure how to find out to be honest. All I know is it's a factory 2000 VT series II supercharged Calais if that helps

yeah that's the M90 came out on VS to VY...I'm surprised you would need to reco an M90 if it's come off a stock VT unless its done a ridiculous amount of kms & been running higher than factory boost. The only thing that should need replacing is the coupler which joins the gears to the snout as these do wear out & cause a rattleing sound from the front of the supercharger. Easy to replace & cost $15 - $20

Nah definitely not running higher than fact boost its done bout 280XXXk's pulled it apart the bearings that hold the gears into place are worn this supercharger originally came off my old VT and i was dumb enough to take it to a mechanic who wanted to charge me 2k to fix it as it had metal shavings throughout he said it was "####ed"..... i pulled it apart the other day and considering there were no signs of any metal shaving s that i could see the bearings at the back were abit worn down and warped so thought id replace that but then thought maybe there was something elsei need to replace as well, dont know how to get behind the gears without a press.

The part your saying to replace is that part of the snout or just part of the body of the supercharger??? if thats the case then its the part i need to change and would you know where i could get the part?? also what oil would i need to get people say i can use gear/tranny oil others say get supercharger oil

You just unbolt the snout to get to the coupler..it couples the drive gears to the pulley shaft & the factory ones wear out and become a little lose & cause a rattle that makes the charger sound worn & tired. The heavy duty OEM replacement is the way to go. I got mine from ZZP in the states. They cost a bit more $30 - $40 but worth it. ZZP sells the Eaton parts you can rebuid your M90 with. They also sell the charger oil...DO NOT put gear or tranny oil in there. This is specific oil. Holden also sell it. Get 2 bottles.

Go to this link & have a look!

Scrap that...have a look at Mace

The Gear oil maybe to thick for the supercharger... Holden sell the right oil as it would need to be the right grade for the supercharger so you don't stuff anything or everything else.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!

I was told 75/80 grade gear oil is the same grade as genuine holden supercharger oil so that's what I went with when I changed my coupler 80,000ks ago. I think the Genuine holden oil is stupidly overpriced so I gave it a miss.

What issues would you run into if the oil is too thick?

Sorry I didn't realise MACE were on the Sponsor section here & stock these parts. I did mine many years ago so ordering from the US was the main option.....
