I've just completed doing the system flush as per How To Flush A V6 Cooling System, but for some reason now the car overheats faster, and even more so than before I started the job...
Have I possibly done something wrong, or has doing it caused another problem like water pump going bad ???
Any advise welcome people..
Sorry i didn't read the how to, but did it mention replacing the thermostat? Also, did you bleed the system after refilling with coolant/water/corrosion inhibitor?

did you reverse flush the rad. out of the car? if so did you plug in the thermo
Yeah guys, have done both of those things..reverse flush etc, used flush / cleaner solution...and bled the system. On the bleeding system part, is it possible I didn't bleed it enough ??
Is the thermo fan cutting in at all?
yes it is......
From what I can tell, everything is running normally..fan cutting in, plenty of fluid etc..Another thought, is there a possibility there a problem with the sensor, or is that stretching it a little ?
if the gauge tells you its hot, and the engine is still normal then there's a chance its a faulty temp sensor.
if your not losing coolant, then id look into a small leak in your water pump, or a blocked radiator.

Thanks for this last reply, based on that...the sensor itself is placed where ? I think I've got to start looking at eliminating things and just work my way through. And the senor is probably the cheapest & easiest place to begin. Additional to this, I will also bleed it abit more just incase there is air still in the system, and check again for any leaks. Is the following what i need to be looking for ?
COOLANT TEMP SENSOR TRIDON COMMODORE ECOTEC VS VT VX VY | eBay
yeah and your sensor is just underneath your thermostat housing, they are easy to replace, well kinda like to the right off it abit but under it lol.
have you replaced your radiator cap, that could be faulty letting air in the system also.
and your thermostat have you replaced that? might not be opening fully. id replace these two things before the temp sensor.
they are both cheap things to look into.

Thanks 'DanLucas",
Yeah replaced both thermostat & radiator cap yesterday when i did system flush etc, along with the coolant stuff so trying to eliminate the easy things 1st, before doing water pump / radiator. And like i commented on earlier also, going to re-bleed as well encase there air still in system. Infact, on that matter is there anyway of exactly telling if all the air is out / or how long i should let spray pass through nipple ?
when you bleed it you should open and close the theromstat housing a couple of times to get all the air out.

you can pick up a radiator for like 100$ and a pump for about 40$ off ebay. should be fine.
