Hey, about 2 weeks ago, my waterpump carked it, driving it home it ended up overheating and cracked the headMy ex ended up changing the motor to the one from his VS wagon which he rolled 10 years ago :/ its been all good for the last week, took a trip to Forster and Newcastle in it on the weekend and it didnt even get hot! Yesterday I put about 5 litres of water in it before going for a drive and on the way home it made the tapping noise it was making when I first did my waterpump, I pulled over and checked my temp and it was right on hot and steam coming from the engine. Put about 10 more litres of water in it and it just gushed out from under the car. Called NRMA and the inspector told me that Id done my waterpump again... First, How hard is it to replace the waterpump? and am I continuously going to have to keep replacing it?
It is not very hard to replace the water pump. The water pumps will fail much quicker if you use plain water instead of a good quality coolant because with just water a lot of rusting will occur.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
Had my waterpump replaced today and found out I have a leak in the bottom of my coolant thing :/ anything you tip in there just gushes out :/
or the overflow box? are you putting water into the radiator or the part with the little yellow top?
Starin at the world through my rearview
Go on baby scream to God, he can't hear you
I can feel your heart beatin fast cause it's time to die
Gettin high, watchin time fly
Thanks for assuming I dont know what anything is :/ I meant the overflow box... Im pretty sure Id of said radiator if it was my radiator... we put coolant in both...

Your radiator coolant level should remain constant, if your are loosing coolant, Check for leaks elsewhere, coolant overflow bottle, overflows.......
gday guys im trying to replace my waterpump but there is a damn pully in front of the final bolt ive tried using a pully extractor to get it off but its on there tight any ideas??
Undo the bolt holding the pulley on? Which pulley are you talking about.
