smell petrol inside the car

I've started to notice over the last couple of weeks a strong smell of petrol in the cabin of the car.
It seems to come about when I accelerate.The only thing that has been done to the car lately is a change of sparkplugs a few weeks ago.
Any ideas as to what it could be?

Have you checked your fuel cap because it might not be sealing right happened to me and I just bought a new cap and its all good now I think its a common problem on VT-VX

check your fuel pressure regulator as well

and have a look around your iinjectors for leaks or signs of fuel been there

Same happened to me and it turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator - hard to pick until it finally destroys itself and pumps large amounts of fuel into the engine. Not Pretty....

Bloody hope it isnt that.
Is it a hard job to replace the regulator?
