on the way home from work last night the car had a nasty miss so this morning i went out to check the leads and notice one had been sitting on the extractors so i pulled it off and had the end sitting up near the batter and when i went to turn it over the end fell on to the battery and blew it up so ive know changed the leads and got a new battery from kmart but the car wont start it just click when i turn the key the abs and trac lights were staying on but ive just tried it again but the reds are all faded and dim could my problem be a dead battery or is it something worst?
thanks brock
Either the battery has not got enough charge or the battery clamps are not making good contact. Do you have a multimeter to measure the voltage of the battery?
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
As well as measuring the voltage of the battery terminals, measure the voltage between the +ve battery terminal and a metal part of the engine (-ve earth) you should get the same voltage reading as you received for the battery terminal voltage. Check if any of your fuses have blown.
small chance you have stuffed the coil packs a and or the unit under them also just check your fuses you may have blown one
check the connections on the starter motor, the b+ is common to loosen. Be carefull tho as the stud will snap on the startermotor if it has been arching![]()
