Heater Tap problems

I have replaced the water pump on my VT commodore, I was told the heater tap was on its way out. I am experiecing condensation build up when the motor warms up, the heater dimister doesn't do anything, also can this problem if it is the heater tap effect the airconditioning?

does it smell like coolant inside the car?

The aircon wont get cold if the tap gets stuck in the heat position. By on its way out i think they mean it might soon break. They are a little plastic thing that breaks all the time.
Does the heater get hot or stay cool??

+1 Agree with DanLucas. Leaking heater core. And If the heater tap is stuffed or a vac hose has come off it will F**k with ya air con. u will notice if a vac hose has come off wen the heater or a/c is on and u got it blowing at ur face, wen put your foot down on the accelerator it will stop at the face and blow up the windscreen till u back off on the pedal

check your thermostat is working correctly.

Thanks every one for your comments! I had a look on google and found a guy on you tube who shows where the heater tap is, and what to look for if the heater tap isn't working, there is a some coolant around the tap and a little on the metal floor, I checked the hoses one is swollen the others ok. The other plugs are in place.
My aircon blows hot air, I thought it needed a service a regas, but I'm thinking it has something to do with most probably the heater core. The condensation comes from under the dash and steams up like a fog.

yeah it sounds like a heater core problem causing the build up in condensation.

also with your heater tap, change it and fix it asap, a small leak of coolant will build up pressure and blow.

and do you know how to check if your aircon pump is working? its common that they go.
