Just got the repairable write off back on the road .When I accelerate the air vents switch from the dash air vents to the screen once I back off they come back to the dash . I have found what looks like a vaccum hose comming out of the fire wall near the heater hoses on the drivers side this hose goes nowhere . Does this car have a small vaccum tank for when the engine accelerates lowering the manifold pressure
i have the same prob......gonna go look for that hose
I cant speak for VX, perhaps everything is completely different, but I can tell you that your problem sounds very like a common problem with VS. In the VS, in the centre console is a solenoid which becomes faulty. The climate control panel has a plastic pipe/hose coming off it but I dont believe its vacuum.. it may be a temp sensor of some sort. To the left of the climate control at the base of the console is the solenoid that causes the problem.
Like I said.. this is VS, I have no clue if your system is even similar, but its worth checking out? There have been a few threads on this problem with VS, THIS LINK will give you some info and there are a few other links within that thread you may find useful.
Good luck![]()
That vaccuum line should be connected, feel around for the component it plugs into.
Silver Certified.
vac switch needs to be replaced, located behind the dash pannels!
i also have this loose hose and the same problem, i also have to heater tap i though it could have been out of there? i cant find any places where it has come off though..
The Hose i think you are talking about,
There are 4 hoses, 2 bigger one's wich are your heater hoses- goes to heter core.
Then there are 2 smaller hoses, 1 Goes to the back of the intake manafold, next to where the brake vacuum pluggs in.
The other one goes to your heater tap.
I had the same problem when I got my car. Some moron removed the 1 way valve from the hose that connected into the plenum. Doubt its the same as your issue though. Probably the vacuum switch attached to the AC controls, but it could be any number problems. Definitely sounds like a vacuum problem though
