2000 Vt Transmission problems dramas any HELP appreciated

Hey guys took off at the lights turned the corner and "BANG" went my tranny with a nice loud whizzing sound, lost all ability to drive the beast, Gonna chuck a 2nd hand/reco one in there BUT i need to know a few things first.

1. has anyone done it and do you have any tips advice on how to do it.

2. i have a supercharged VT does it matter if i use a standard 6cyl eco-tech tranny?

3. do i need to get a new torque converter

4. should i replace the clutch?

Obviously as i will be doing this with my mate in my garage i dont really have access to high tech workshop stuff jus basic shit you would get from repco autobarn and r&e auto.

Any help will be great advice from people who have done this before and difficulty of the thing would be much appreciated

Better invest in a work shop book first.

I have gearbox and torque converter for $250 - it will fit your car, automatics do not run a clutch mate

wish i read your comment sooner wouldnt have bought this transmission for 350 =( thanks for the response though, i know autos dont have a clutch as such i think the guy was talking about the clutch plate in the gears i dunno some crap he was talking either way he can blow smoke out his arse try an charge me 1800 to fix it.....

will probably post a how to once its done with photos step by step jus incase anyone needs it in the future

$1800 seems about right for a standard rebuild.
