Air con vents not changing

Hey I have air coming out my windscreen vents but when I change the selecter switch to face vents nothing happens and air still comes out the windscreen vents! It's a 2002 VU

Check the thin vacuum hose that should be connected at the rear of the intake manifold.
If that isn't the problem then do a search because this has been covered many times.
