Default HID problem please help me

Okay, firstly i just want to say:

I know that the $50 HID low beam kit that i bought off ebay is probably a piece of ****. So dont comment telling me that, i just want to know if anyone knows how to fix this problem.

Installed the HIDs 2 days ago and they were working fine, but all of a sudden last night they went weird. Now everytime i turn the low beams on, this happens:
Right headlight: No HID comes on, parker comes on and stock high beam bulb comes on but not to its full brightness
Left headlight: HID comes on, parker comes on, and high beam comes on but not to its full brightness.

When i turn the high beams on the only bulb to light up is the left high beam bulb which comes on super bright. Im not sure why this problem randomly happened so any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers
    Ando

Okay guys ive traced the problem back to a faulty ballast, but im not sure if thats causing the high beams to come on when they shouldnt be.

One thing I have learnt about HIDs, the cheap ones aren't worth the time and trouble..

Just found that my right hand headlamp fuse was blown, thats why the HID on the right side wasnt turning on

I hear of heaps doin that even mine, some kits come with a relay box if yours didn't try put relays in there, mine were flickering and one wouldn't turn on and now after putting relays in my headlights and fogs are bright as #### all the time..

does anyone know that if blowing a fuse could harm a HID ballast making it faulty?

I think it is more likely that a faulty ballast blew the fuse.

but what would have caused the ballast to become faulty if it originally worked?

Check the main one to the chassis, also I found to that if your headlights are fused separately and one blows current will sometimes back feed through the opposite side... Check fuses, bulbs, the globe holder and check across the headlight plug with a volt meter, should be 11.8 to 12.8 with out car runnin,

I too had problems trying to install HIDs.

On low beam, one would come on High, while the other would not come on at all. On high beam both would come on Low beam!

So I bought a new set that have a movable globe (for low/high beam) and they work perfectly. I will try to install the first set in my other car and see how they go.

hey mate, had similar problems, have you got aftermarket headlights? like someone else said get a relay kit, dont skimp on the relay kit either. i tried the cheap hids in high beam and foggies and have replaced all of the ballasts and a couple of globes. the more expensive hid kits come with a relay harness.

My headlights are stock so there isnt any relay issues. The problem was that there was a faulty ballast which blew my right headlamp fuse. They are sending me a new ballast so hopefully it all works out

I just done mine but I did both H4's & H1's......didnt buy a cheap set either....they work fine......there bright.....but cant really see any further on Highbeam than normal.....waste of $300 & 3 hours of my time. I do have standard factory headlights tho....not sure if that makes a diff
