    Default LS1 Misifre

    Hey.
I have a intermittent misfire in my LS1 VX.

Mainly near idle and load at lowish revs. It also is really noticeable below 3000 if i put the foot down flat.

I have replaced Plugs and leads (some of the new leads where faulty so had to swap them straight away). But im not to sure about the new leads.

My next guess and actually my initial thought is coil packs, but people (spareparts places) tell me they are uncommon on the LS1?

I also have extractors and full exhaust fitted but no tune done (previous owner, only just picked up car this friday).

Make sure that the leads are plugged into the coils properly, they should click twice. I sometimes get the same sort of miss, replaced the leads and it was good for a while and then returned, so I unplugged the leads at the coils and put them back on and it was good for a while and then returned. If I repeat the process it fixes it again for a while. I suspect some corrosion at one of the terminals, I'll get around to narrowing it down and fixing it.

Check that earth connections and battery connections are clean and tight. Check air filter for clogging. Change fuel filter.

These wouldnt lock onto coils and plugs properly. I think the machine that made mine was faulty. One lead actually half pulled out, 3 wouldnt click when going on the coils and one just wouldnt fit on the sparkplug. Veales autoparts gave me my money back without any drama.
