Default my vt chewing petrol abnormally?

    Hey there,
Just got a 98 vt exec. And I'm not very good with cars, I filled up my tank half way and after doing no more then 10 (15 at the most) k's its jumped from 250 k's to 170 to go ,
Is this normal or is there a problem with my car?

You will probably find its nothing more than the fuel gauge giving a different reading. When my fuel gauge says 100kms to go, I can usually get at LEAST 200km more.

The readings can vary a lot depending on whether the car is facing uphill or downhill. Downhill will show more and uphill will show less. It should be more accurate on level ground but it takes a fair while for the reading to stabilise.

Also goes off driving style, highway and around town. Will get in a loop and car will respond to how it's treated. Simple thrash it around you will get crap all kms to empty even after filling up. Drive like a granny and things will change. My car cruise control on highway gets 860kms to the tank. around town I get 350- 400 my partner around town gets 550-600 no problem just driving style. My partner can tell when I have been driving because it responds to how I drive it. I hop in after she drives and it's sluggish. Now we have 2 sets of keys. I get what I want she gets what she wants.
