Hi,
My drivers side electic window collapsed. The plastic glides broke and has left some nice scratch marks in my glass. I've pulled off the trim and discovered one of the glides had snapped, but what i found even stranger is in the welll of the door i found an arm just lying in there. I can't work out where it comes from as there is an arm already for both sides of the track. How many arms am i suppose to have fitted with guides that go in the tracks? Could this be a part left over from a previous problem that someones fixed or has it come off somewhere? I can't work out where and why i would need it.
Thanks
Here is a diagram of the window mechanism. Manual and power window regulators are virtually the same design.
The white nylon runners can be purchased from Holden quite cheaply.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
This happen to mine still works only has 2 arms, Never re fitted the broken arm dont know where it goes???. I have a spare ready for when/if this one finally stops.
Take it easy...But do take it...
Do not argue with an IDIOT.
He will just drag you down to his level an beat you with experience.
Some people take me the wrong way, Like smacking up Marijunna.
Thanks for the help guys. That diagram is really useful. Holden want $6 each for the slide rollers and if i have to replace the glass it's giong to cost me in the realm of $400. Hope it's just the tinting that needs replacing!
Thanks again!
Replaced the plastic guides in my doors the other day. Thought I would replace all of them since I had the trim off.
Very hard to get the old ones out, and you need a lot of pressure to click the new ones back in.
I spent some time trying to figure out how to get them back over the bolts, and in the end took it to the mechanic and he just squeezed them on with the monkey grips.
