Hey i've had my car VX Berlina II 3.8 auto for a month now and if i ever put my foot right down to the floor or close to it you dont feel the acceleration kick in for a second or two whether ur going 60 k's or 20 k's or stand still it makes no difference, as this is my first car im not entirely sure if this is meant to happen or not, if Not then what could be causing this? would be nice to have it alot more responsive when you want to pick up speed fast?
Cheers
It's normal.
sounds normal, you dont have a supercar.
Take it easy...But do take it...
Do not argue with an IDIOT.
He will just drag you down to his level an beat you with experience.
Some people take me the wrong way, Like smacking up Marijunna.
can you tune the ecu with a memcal or some shit to make throttle response better?
Mine doesn't delay that much, maybe half a second or so at the most, but mine's a manual.

That's a commodore for you!
Yep Its normal, about half a second or so. bugs me too but what can ya do, they are family cars not race cars lol

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

drive another commodore.
if same, then it is just transmission, takes time to shift gears. its normal.
if different, check throttle body or vaccume . may be sucking air from somewhere just before fuel.
I found what can help is a exhaust system. The VX has a hiflow exhaust, has removed it some, the VY has stock its more noticed. but the VX was the same before i changed over the exhaust
hey mate
my vt recently was doing that for a while until the other week
when it started overheating because my radiator had a crack
now i asked the mechanic about the delay and he said
that when the engine i running hot it culd cause the transmission wall to heat up which causes a delay
so some advice is to check to see if your car is running hot.
before ya head gasket blows i got really lucky that i had no damage
i aggree with the others saying its just a commodore thing ..
you gotta take weight of the car into consideration ..
i have a Type R Integra with 162fwkw at 980kg and its the most responsive thing running 12's ..
my VT took awhile to engage in response like said , family car not race car, 1.7 tonne car with only 147kw at fly or whatever they are ..
KONY puts the meaning of "INFANT" to "INFANTRY"
The responsiveness (or lack thereof) in this instance has little to do with the weight of the car and everything to do with the electronic control of the transmission. My (standard) VN and VP V8s were magnificent in terms of changing gears quickly via kickdown. My VS Calais V8, by comparison, was very leisurely in changing gears via kickdown, and it was only after installing a shift kit and a host of other changes that I now have the sort of transmission that changes as fast as I want, up and down.
Have you looked at your throttle cable? maybe its loose and doesnt open up the valve in the throttle body in fast response to your gas pedal
yeah sounds normal to me, id only start to worry if it was any longer than that
I agree, its a commodore thing , the engine response annoyed me enough to buy a 2.5 " 'redback' catback exhaust, A '3A' pod which has been modded to my factory airbox, and i checked the throttle cable, which needed to be tightened. Response is better, but i'm still buying a high flow catalytic converter and getting it installed.

My 2 cents, if you want better response, buy a VN-VR with a buick motor, my vn had insane throttle response, auto let it down a bit though
