    Default Ecotec - Where else can oil get into water if not blown head gasket?

    Oil is getting into water and its not a head gasket by the looks of it. Help...

    mmm makes sence too. the intake mani gaskets and valleys look newish maybe they didnt seal it good enough in the corners?

    Try tightening the valley cover bolts up. You MAY just be in luck.

    Tightening won't work the side gasket get old and brittle and will crack if u try an tighten the bolts just replace them

    heads are off atm putting it all back together with a vrs kit tonight. the intake mani bolts were suprisingly loose when i took it off though. Like i used a little 1/4 ratchet with one hand to undo them all.

    when the mechanic did mine on my old 5L he had to do a retension after a heatup cooldown cycle
