Hey have just got the octane tint from tint a car and on the rear window where all them black dots are there are alot of white areas, the guy was showing me the streaks on the sides and said they will go but did not mention anything about this white stuff, will this go away in a few days or am i gonna have to get the rear re-done? has anyone else experienced this, ill put pics up later after work if needed.
thanks
When I had my statesman done a few years back the guy told me the stuff around the dots would disappear in a week or so and most of it did.

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
Ok thanks ill wait a week and see what happens, also the front side windows seem lighter then back windows, cant see anything in back side windows but you can see through the fronts, im guessing thats just because more light gets to the front of the car because the front window isnt tinted? was a 35% tint
Just take it back they didn't do their job right.

ill try get some pics up tomorrow, u think its definitely not normal for a fresh tint? on the back of the warranty thing it says something like "a white effect on the black dots is normal" i dont think i would call it a white effect as its only in some parts of it, not on every dot
Reason why you think the front windows look lighter then the rears is because more light shines through your front windscreen making it more lighter in the front opposed to the back. Most of the white areas will disappear, I would worry if you start to find dust or hairs stuck under the film.
its normal, did the same thing on my vs, dots went away within a couple weeks.
been 2 and a half weeks and the white stuff is still there on the rear window under dots, so i went to tint a car today and hes telling me its completely unavoidable because the film is raised a little above them black dots and he said his clubsport is the same, which wasnt there so im not sure if thats true or not. but you guys say yours doesnt have it?
dude its common for tint not to adhere well to the ceramic dot matrix on rear screens and side windows if you just run your finger around the edges gently it will help the film to stick if not you have warranty use it .
the dots are raised and they do contain some silica which can cause some troubles with some glues with gluing. what a good hint i have lernt is to cut out a lid of an ice cream container in to a scrapper shape and then cover the end with a rag and then rung along the dots and that van be a great help and works even better on a really hot day. hope this helps
