lid above lighter

hi there ,,,new problem the lid above lighter seems to stay open and wont shut,,,any ideas on how to fix this will be appreciated,,,thanks

You will need to replace the little latch thing.

Thats common just buy one from a wrecker that would be easyest you have to pull the whole surround of to change it theres threads on here how to's.

Yep just the latch, about $15

Ebay mate, can get em for about $8. I learned the hard way and got ripped off at a dealership.

Actually, you do not need to pull the surround apart to change the latch.

On the left of the door the hinge is a pin pushed into the left wall. Prise this out with a thin flat screw driver (don't lose it - it is very small). then grab the door and gently slide it out towards you. The door and some of the right wall assembly will slide out.

The hinge is a little Y shaped thing in the back of the right side bracket.

thanks will give it a go,,the wheel and the spring seems to be in order but just dosent close is there a lock type system on top,,,cant seem to figure it out,,,,thanks heaps
