cooling fan problem

My cooling fan keeps coming on when the car is cold even on start up witch is draining my battery i have replaced it with a new relay still same problem it is pissing me of hard because if i have the stereo up loud i cant here if it is on even in traffic so when i go to start it again its almost flat?? if it is off and a/c is swiched on it will come on as usual but will randomly stay on after a/c swiched off if any one has had this problem please help as i know this is a known

if you have changed the relay i would be looking at the coolant temp sensor and scanning for trouble codes
