I have VX and I have a problem with the radiator hose's connection block -After the hose's leave the radiator before they enter the engine there is a plastic connection (2 hoses in 2out) with a metal disk bolted on top, can anyone tell me what this part is? It looks simple enough to replace by undoing the hose connections and undoing the 2 small bolts that hold the metal disk, is this the case? Any information is appreciated
It is the heater tap. Easy enough to replace yourself.
Just to be sure is it like the image below?

I replaced a leaky heater tap a few weeks back and as soon as I touched it the thing just crumbled and fell to pieces. Such a cheap crappy design they go brittle as all hell after a few years of service. Pretty easy fix providing they don't leave you stranded somewhere with an overheating engine
haha smart ass, can guarantee it was for a different reason, i picked up a vs stolen and recovered, had been sitting for 4 years, gee i wonder why i had to flush the system, geez how bout some usefull info instead of all being smart ass ####s on this site honestly???? ive been a member for a while now, but have stopped using this site as idiots above throwing in there 2 bob that dont evan help the bloody topic
AND YET you still didnt answer my question ??? so hence i will try again, why would you need to flush your system if you are only changing a heater tap ??

are you serious...? i really Dont give two shits on how long you have "used" this forum, obviously the OP's car has not been sitting for 4 years.
and because he has a leaky heater tap, so there's probably air in the system, but if the OP knows what he is doing he can just bleed the system when he is done.
and coolant doesn't run up hill, so depending on how fast he can change it, he will only loose about a cup of coolant.
so at the end of the day your right the system doesn't need to be flushed, all depends on your coolant.
