Default White Needle Upgrade On Cluster Fail :(

hey guys, just got a wicked set of white needles to replace my orange ones and they dont fit. the yellow needles i have have a smaller knob on the back of them that pushes onto the prong on the dial. the white ones are a bit bigger and they fall off....is this normal? any ways i can fix it as i desperately want these needles!

You will need to swap over the gauges too. The needle shaft is bigger on the VX white needles.

Only other way is to paint some orange needles white.

Oh noes!! I just got my new dash face and white needle setup today. No such luck the cluster in my VT has in the past been replaced with a VX? I might be saying some naughty words later tonight when I get working on putting the white needles on mine too.

basically the white back housing clusters use the VT needles and the Black backed housing uses the VX needles. all needles must b from the same cluster as ur own as they wont fit as said above. Pheddy (Greg from ASR) or myself can do an exchange over part if needed.

im interested in doing this as well .. is it possible to just paint the orange ones? But then the light wont come through will it?
What about just using some hot glue to put the needle in place?

hmm :\ Just seems getting a whole new cluster is a lot of work

paint must go on the back of the needle, if u put it on the top then yeah the light wont come through.

wat would u use hot glue 4? if u get the right needles 4 ur model cluster u wont have any problems as they will b a nice snug fit.

depends if u just take them off with out pre marking them where they sit now, then yeah they can b inaccurate, masking tape can b ur friend here, but since u got the calais u'll have the option using ur mode button (access hidden menu) 2 check ur needles positions and warning lights at the same time.
