    Default Another VT cluster fail.

So I pulled my dash out etc today to put my new dash face on, replace some globes in the back.
I go to unplug the back of the cluster and notice 2 pairs of wires also going into the back of the cluster. A yellow and black wire going into the black globe holder part where the globe should be for cruise and a green and a black wire going into where the globe should be for active.
So rather than fiddle with them, I did everything the hard way while the cluster was still attached by these wires. Did the globes (some were too hard to get screwed in properly, so they have come loose on the first drive lol) and then did the dash face. The white needles didnt fit as they are VX ones. So put my orange ones back for now. Put everything back, and as I was going to plug the back of the cluster in, I notice the green and black wires had come out (they had been held in with hot glue). Cursed a bit then gathered that nothing major is likely to be wired so crudely into the back of the cluster in the globe holes, so taped the end up and put everything back as I needed the car. I did call my mechanic and double checked and he thought the same.

I do know the car had loose wires at the front for spotties, but it also had the button and plug for spotties in the previous dash fascia. But am wondering if they wired it into the cluster for some reason? Its not the radio as that is working fine.

Car starts and has caught fire on me, and my headlights etc all work still so am happy for now.
I will have to pull the cluster out again to refit the loose globes, and am thinking of pulling out the other pair of wires and taping them up so I can fit my globes properly. What do you guys think?

Also since I fitted the globes, the ABS one stays on. It didnt have a globe before (maybe this is why?). All my brakes work fine. My vt doesnt have traction control that Im aware of I think an auto cluster is in my car as it has the "power" bit on the cluster, but isnt that only for auto's? Mine is a manual.
So maybe its lighting up looking for ABS that my car doesnt have?
The car is going in to have its exhaust done next week, and the mechanic said he will check it over then and run the scanner on it.

Have a look in the engine bay and see if you have an ABS module. The thing on the right in the photo with the pipes coming out of it.

I think I do have one of those (from memory, will have a look shortly). So if I have that, then I have ABS?

    Yes you do.
To check that it is working, drive on some dirt or gravel road and hit the brakes hard, you should feel the brakes pulsating. If it isn't working the brakes will just lock up causing you to skid.

A mechanic checked out if the ABS was working on my Volvo by running the passenger wheels in gravel. Looking back you could see distinct 'pulse' marks in the gravel surface indicating where the wheels had nearly stopped turning, scuffing out the gravel and followed by an unmarked section of gravel where the wheel had released. Quite impressive.
