    Angel Eye dramas

    Story goes.

Driving to Melbourne from Adelaide, a small rubber object (soccer ball size) fell off the back of a passing truck and struck the drivers fron corner somewhere.

    Since then...
    1. parkers seemingly work fine initially
    2. turn headlights on, drivers side is dull and parkers brighten
    3. pull highbeam paddle, driver side doesnt work, parkers dull.
    4. flick highbeam paddle on, drivers side doesnt work, parkers reappear, headlights both go out.

Is this a earth problem? fuze? pinched wires? do i need an auto electrician?

Have tested problematic headlight glove against car and battery and the globe is fine. its something to do with the wiring.

Everything except 2 suggests its a problem with the ground. As you draw more current they dim or go out.

Do the angel eyes use the same plugs for the bulbs as the standard lights? If not can you try the standard lights?

There are 3 or 4 fuses and relays that control your headlights. Maybe for sanity, fleece some of the other relays (check they're the same part number though) and try that. Also either replace the fuses or test the resistance with a multimeter, if they're partially blown you'll still get some voltage but it will drop off significantly as you draw more current (actually a bit like what's happening).

Sorry this isnt very organized, kinda thinking of stuff as I write. Good luck

What you could do, test out the plug that goes into the headlights and see if they are working fine.
really looks like a earthing problem tbh

I'm not sure if your lights has the same but my brothers altezza lights have a cable that you have to mount to the body, so if yours has that check that out? :S

    oh and, It's a commodore
    haha sorry. jokes

Over it, lights have been replaced.. all down to the 6 pin plugs.. no messy wiring behind stock lights..

high beams still draw power from passenger low beam when off, only drivers highbeam works when on and passenger low beam dulls. Am pulling my hair out with this, relays work fine, fuses work fine, new globes in replacement lights...

    Out of ideas.
