    Default Check Engine overheating

    Holden VT SS Series 2 LS1 5.7l

Hey guys i was driving along a dirt road that was slightly more bumpy than i would have liked. After a while i saw my check engine light was on and my temp was sitting at a steady 3/4. So it was not HOT but it was up there.
I pulled over to turn off the car. When i turned the car off my radiator fans were still going. I turned the car back to accessories and the fans turned off...i had a look at the engine and the coolant is fine. When i turned the car
back on the fans kicked in straight away and the temp gauge sat on 0. like you know how the needle moves just a little when you turn it on but it still means 0. ANYWAY! The needles then moves slowly back up to normal car temperature when
driving and sits there for a few minutes then shoots up to 3/4. The engine does not feel hotter than normal and nothing really looks wrong in the engine bay. Its just a check engine light, cooling fans are being weird, and temp gauge playing up.
Im not a car mechanic so i dont know alot but can someone maybe throw some ideas around so i can try narrow this problem down. Thanks.

Well the tech2 came back with 2 errors. Dont quote me but the 1st one was a air sensor low voltage. I think this is cause i have a mafless tune? and the 2nd error was the coolant sensor high voltage. So Scotty_11 you might have a faulty coolant sensor.
My car was due for a service just last week and i have not had time off work so i have it booked in now and i will mention to the mechanic what the problem might be

    Thanks

Exactly the same thing happened to me today in my VY on a dirt road, what was the problem?
