    Default Is my battery buggered

    Hey all,
Ok heres the problem with my 2000 VX berlina(Stock everything), the battery keeps draining overnight, when charged(engine off) the battery is 12.7v, engine idle voltage is 14.2 and amp draw when off is 3.2mA and 4.5mA when the alarm is armed, I have taken the battery out of the car at full charge (12.7v) and over 3 hours it has dropped to 12.61v. Is that normal or do I need a new battery?

    Cheers

Have you replaced the battery before? If it is around 4 years old then it will need replacing. And the volts should be between 13v and 14v. But if you haven't replaced the battery before, it would probably pay you to. All 3 of my cars that I bought all needed a new battery within a month of owning them.

Including car parts (VS, VT, VX, VY, WH etc), my WH Statesman, and other things listed on eBay.

I've only owned it for 3 months but as far as I know its had 1 battery change in its lifespan so yeah will definately get a replacement, will see in the morning what the charge is on the old one, if it keeps draining like it is it will only have 30% charge left which tells me its gooone.

Thought I would follow up, it was the battery so that is all good now, guess it pays to check the simple things first........ new problems have arisen since but thats a different post? Cheers
