    Default Transmission Filter Kit

hey, looking at doing a major service to my car soon and ive read you should replace the filter/gasket when changing your trans fluid, my question is are they all the same? supercheap auto sell a kit for about $18 and holden just told me theirs are $46 so that is a big difference. is it worth the extra $30 to get it genuine or are the transgold ones from supercheap auto just fine?
    thanks

Supercheap ones are just fine!, I think i have one in at the moment...
But remember to get the old filter seal out when you take the old filter out, They are sometimes a real pain to get out.
If you cant get it out forr whatever reason, Just take the seal off the new filter and put the new filter in using the old seal,
Its not the best but it is an option if you really cant get it out.

super cheap is transgold or something, they are fine, they are the same ones used by gmh.
to remove that pesky ring, just get a flat head on the side of it, smash it with out damaging the alloy and pry it out, use a new o ring dont be cheap on something that could do damage.
installing the oring is simple, find the same sized socket and tap it into place, i have to do mine soon, so i could do a write up if its not already done

Read through the stickies on how to do the service, particularly the ones on how to avoid/reduce transmission oil spills when draining the pan. Don't be confused by Capitalgainz's description of an "O" ring. The seal is a metal cylinder with a rubber seal bonded to the top.
